The charts show little history

When iOS asks how much Health history to share, choose All Recorded Data. You can change it in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Step Logger.

I'm not getting reminders

Check iPhone Settings → Notifications → Step Logger, then the reminder times in the app's settings. Reminders are skipped once you've hit your target.

My widgets or complications are out of date

iOS decides when they refresh. Open the app to refresh them right away.
